Bead Soup Party Coming Up Soon!

It's been like a month since I posted last.....that's embarassing!
Between lack of internet and Hurricane Irene passing over us I got behind on blogging!
I am taking part in the Bead Soup Blog Party again this year. We are assigned a partner, by Lori at Pretty Things, partners swap bead packages and make something with what was sent to them.
My partner is Karen, from Seattle, and you can check out her blog here.
Karen sent quite an amazing package.
Here are the Focals and the toggle. Karen made these focals!!! The one on the bottom right has a sand dollar embedded in it!! They are all so beautiful and my imagination is whirling thinking about all the things I can do with these.
And then there were all the other extras.....
Look at all these beautiful stones!!!! Karen told me the round disks are fossilized coral....very cool!! These pieces are all new to me since I have never worked with stones like these. So it will be an exciting journey.
The turquoise cube beads above are some of my favorites!
Be sure and come back September 17th, do the Bead Soup Party Blog hop and check out what all the amazing jewelry artists have created.
Well, I've got to go get to work, and I promise you I will be back before September 17th!

Great looking soup mix you got! I've been to the Bahama's once, my high school senior trip, many years ago! Loved, loved, loved that place and think you are one lucky gal to get to live there! Hope I get to visit again one day! Do hope you didn't sustain any damage from Irene. Can't wait to see your design on the 17th! Have fun!

I'm glad you are ok. I have been worried about you since Irene...sent you a Flickr message to see if you were ok. Did you have much damage? It was mainly strong winds and rain by the time it reached here. We were without power for just a short time and lost some trees in the area.

E-gads, I thought you were dead! Sure glad you're not, but from what I see of quilts out of you in Flickr, you might as well be dead. When you gunna start quilting again? I MISS you!

Glad you liked the package! I love sand dollars, but they are so fragile on their own - this one should be much more durable now! I hadn't expected it to turn partially transparent with the resin, though.

Oh, an the turquoise cubes are raku porcelain.

Can't wait to see what you come up with. I've been experimenting with ideas for my bead soup and think I finally have it! :)
