{First of all I want to send a BIG apology out to everyone at the Paint Party for not getting to read all the blog posts last week and comment. My internet at home has been down since last week and I have to come to my husbands business to get online until the cable company decides to come and fix the problem. This makes my online time very, very limited.}
I have had this idea in my head for sometime.
Some of you may or may not know that I am a big foodie and last August I went vegan, after being a vegetarian on and off for 20 years prior.
I love to take a recipe and veganize it, and also love to find amazing recipes that satisfy my carnivore husband!
So my idea was to do a journal/recipe pages for my recipes. A lot of my recipes are scribbled on pieces of paper or if they are in a cookbook there are a million notes and changes made to them.
I am so excited about how this turned out and cannot wait to do some more which I will be sharing with you.
Sorry for the quick post but time is limited online when I am not at home, and we have people working around the house so I have to get back.

This is so fun! I have a recipe book from my scrapbooking days that was a colaboration between 10 of us. We all did a few pages for each other. I love to look at the recipes and cook from such beautiful pages. Have a great weekend, hope you get some time to yourself to create.
Love the illustrated recipe pages. What a great idea.
Oooohhh, I like it too! Makes me want to go cook something. I can just imagine how lively and inspiring your recipe book will be when you are finished. Happy PPF!
Illustrated recipe pages are so neat. I just love Broccoli soup and now I am craving it. :-)
Love the recipe cards. The soup sounds delicious and even non-vegans can enjoy any kind of tasty dish.
Yay..how fabulous..wonderful work!! And congrats!!

mmmm now you are making me hungry!!! Great looking recipe book!
That's such an awesome idea! :) And I love that you put artistic spin on your recipes. I'm vegetarian too but find it hard to cross over to veganism. Cheese is my poison. :)
this is a great idea and turned out quite wonderful.
Great idea! Love your recipe book! Valerie
Oh boy, I do love your veggie journal. It's great and soon enough it will be filled with the best recipes. How exciting for you. It's a great idea. Like your drawings too. Take care, Happy PPF and 4th.
Love this! I have wanted to do some pages like this but haven't. Do you know there is a blog you can submit your illustrated pages to. I think it is called Eat Draw Cook. It is a wonderful blog that features artists. Happy PPF! Theresa
This is wonderful... what a beautiful cookbook it will be (be sure to protect your pages while you're cooking)!
I look forward to seeing more...

Your art adds such a more personal note to the recipe cards. great idea! HAPPY PPF!
Not only is this a great idea, it's so creatively made. I would love to see the next page as well! The whole cookbook while you're at it. lol Seriously, very nice job. Makes me want to eat veggie soup.
What a great idea!! Happy PPF!
Such a nice way to make the reading of a recipe a very enjoyable experience. Wonderful!
Very creative way to take the mundane (recipes on a piece of paper) and make it beautiful.
Lovely work! This puts the fun into cooking! Happy PPF :)
what a great idea and beautifully done as well.Congrats on becoming vegan,, I so wish I could,, alas my love of cheese is till winning,, thank you for visiting,,
ok saving this to make. Hope you don't mind me printing it out too, it's so pretty...thank you
mmmm what a yummy painting! I'm trying to get away from eating too much meat - though I'm not at the point of giving it up completely. One of my vegan friends just went raw. so she lent me her cookbook for the summer to aid in my attempt and so far the veggie soups are the winners!
LIke other posters, I love this idea to combine your recipe and painting challenge. A great illustrated manuscript to add to your collection. I think it's a great way to not just communicate an idea in more ways than one, but to process it as the writer and illustrator. Hmmmm . . . I may have to do something like this for PPF in the future. :)
deliously awesome! ... and very proud of you ... me give up a bacon cheeseburger ...never going to happen. Good luck with the house stuff and internet ... happy PPF!
I just made your soup and it's absolutely delicious, thanks again. Hope you will share more recipes in the future.
